Make unremarkable things visible.
None of this felt right. But it was worth an experience.

I was recently traveling for longer distances by public transport and had to change trains at large stations. I thought, why not use waiting times and get close to folks?!
Because of my consumtion of various contents from street photographers like Samuel Lintaro Hopf and Sean Tucker, I was full of inspiration. Thus, I imagined the most beautiful images in my mind already.
Until now, I’d only touched street photography on the surface, at best.
I wanted to get more into this photo genre.
So without further ado I threw the camera into my bag and off I went.
But then on site howsoever, I was confronted with the fear of contact.
All of a sudden I felt inhibited and couldn’t get as close to people as I would’ve liked for the shots visualized in my mind, but for what reason.
On the one hand, I guess I was no longer used to crowds of people this large. Due to the Corona-induced isolation over the past years, I obviously had to relearn social interaction at large groups again. I am talking about real interactions, of course. Not the virtual ones we nowadays participate in every day!!
On the other hand, well, I have never confronted strangers with my camera in public before like one would in terms of classic street photography. In theory it all sounds so simple, in practice I felt uncomfortable invading the personal space of someone I don’t know.
Whatever, none of that did seem right but it was worth an experience.
